REPORT: Lebanese woman dies after prolonged stay in Beirut police station
Samira Shedid headed Thursday morning to her work in Sed el-Bouchrieh, never to return alive again.

She was found across the Dora Bridge with fractures to both her hands and legs, and bleeding profusely from the head, her family reported.

Her family added that she was transported to the Burj Hammoud police station instead of being taken to a nearby hospital.

After going through various legal procedures, Samira's brother signed legal papers to transport his sister to a hospital.

According to Internal Security Forces, various citizens reported that Samira was taking off her clothes at the Dora roundabout, adding that ISF members transported her to the police station and handcuffed her "to prevent her from harming herself."

ISF members also mentioned that Samira's family was able to transport her to a hospital after finalizing legal procedures.

The circumstances of her death remain a mystery.
