REPORT: KAFA launches e-campaign over domestic violence law

The President has the power to bring justice to Lebanon’s women; the domestic violence law, ratified by the parliament, was submitted to President Michel Sleiman who could refer it back for further discussions.

Meanwhile, KAFA (enough) Violence & Exploitation, a Non-Governmental Organization, has launched an electronic campaign that aims to collect signatures for its petition calling on Sleiman to refer the law back to Parliament.

The Lebanese Parliament passed, early this month, a law to protect women from domestic violence; however, did not make the amendments requested by NGOs, most prominently KAFA.
