Deputy Michel Murr stated on Tuesday during his meeting with House Speaker Nabih Berri that he will attend, along with Deputy Neila Tueini, the parliamentary session to elect a new president, pointing out that he will vote for a president who will work for Lebanon’s interest.
In turn, Lebanese Forces MP Setrida Geagea said after meeting Berri that LF Chief Samir Geagea will get no less than 50 votes during the first round of the election, stressing that the LF asked for a meeting with Hezbollah officials 4 days ago, but have yet to receive an answer.
MP Geagea also said that Speaker Berri vowed that his bloc will be the first to attend the session and vote for a president.
In the same regard, the Development and Liberation Bloc assured that it will attend Wednesday’s session to elect a new president.
Earlier, Speaker Berri held talks with head of the Lebanese Democratic Party MP Talal Arslan as well as Health Minister Wael Abu Faour who headed a delegation from MP Walid Jumblatt's Progressive Socialist Party.
