REPORT: Beirut Marathon launches “Run Forward” women’s race

Lebanon’s 2014 Beirut Marathon launched Sunday a women's race under the slogan “Run Forward,” under the auspices of First Lady Wafaa Sleiman, and in the participation of MP Ghassan Mkheiber and other figures from civil society bodies.

The marathon, which started at 7:30 am at BIEL, was accompanied by a series of security measures implemented by the Internal Security Forces.

A large number of men and women, carrying balloons, ran the challenge all the way to the finish line which was sat Beirut’s Martyrs’ Square.
