REPORT: 6 earthquakes jolted Lebanon since midnight- NCSR
Head of the National Council for Scientific Research (NCSR) Mouin Hamze said on Sunday that seismic and scientific research centers cannot expect the occurrence of an earthquake, but may study the activity of a quake.

Hamze called on all Lebanese citizens to take all necessary precautionary measures, pointing out that low-magnitude earthquakes may follow the original one.

Hamze also pointed out that he informed Prime Minister Tammam Salam and Interior Minister Nouhad Mashnouq about the situation in Lebanon.

Earlier, Hamze told LBCI’s Nharkom Said that 6 earthquakes jolted Lebanon since midnight, pointing out that one of them had a 4.2 magnitude.

Hamze stated that these earthquakes are normal; however, stressed that prevention measures are necessary.

On Saturday overnight, citizens from north to south Lebanon felt an earthquake that lasted for almost 10 seconds.

The earthquake measured 4.0 on the Richter scale.
