REPORT: Baalbek-based Ahrar al-Sunna brigade develops its modus operandi -sources
Security sources told LBCI on Friday that the party which uses the Baalbek-based Ahrar al-Sunna brigade's Twitter account, has developed its modus operandi.

"The party operating the account seems determined to spark panic among the Lebanese people, more specifically the Christian community," the sources said.

The same sources said efforts are being exerted in a bid to identify those behind the account, adding that security forces are keen on revealing their identity.

The brigade urged on Thursday the “Crusaders of Lebanon's Bekaa" to leave the region, adding that the "hour is approaching to clear the Bekaa Emirate of Crusaders," they said in reference to Christians via Twitter.

Last month, the group vowed to attack churches in Lebanon, mainly in the eastern Bekaa valley.

“We will target crusaders in Lebanon to silence the ringing of the bells,” the group said.

The brigade recently pledged adherence to the Islamic State, previously known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

The Islamic State declared last month the establishment of the “Islamic caliphate” led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, ordering Muslims around the world to pledge adherence to their chief.

The brigade has also claimed responsibility for several rocket and bomb attacks inside Lebanon, the latest of which were the suicide attacks in Dahr al-Baydar and Raouche's Duroy Hotel.
