REPORT: Rifi calls for prosecution of individuals who burned Islamic State flag
The media bureau of Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi declared Saturday that “a number of unknown individuals burned an Islamic State flag in Sassine Square in Ashrafieh.”

“The flag has the slogan of Islam written on it (There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the messenger of Allah)," the statement added, stressing that this slogan has nothing to do with the terrorist practices of the Islamic State.

Accordingly, Rifi called on Acting State Prosecutor Judge Samir Hammoud to take measures in order to pursue, arrest and prosecute the perpetrators, stressing that such acts are considered as contempt to religious rites and can create strife.
