REPORT: Chekka residents stage protest rejecting landfill project
Residents of the northern city of Chekka staged Wednesday a demonstration to protest against the establishment of two landfills in the area.

The demonstrators raised banners rejecting the project that will turn their city into “a factory to treat solid waste collected from Beirut and Mount Lebanon.”

In this regard, deputy head of the Municipality of Chekka rejected “the landfill project due to the damage that it will cause.”
