In a first move of its kind, the Labor Ministry called for holding a conference to organize and regulate the process of recruiting foreign domestic workers.
The conference was organized by owners of domestic worker recruitment offices, the number of which has reached 640 offices, and by ambassadors and consuls of countries from which these workers are being recruited.
During the conference, the organizers tackled a plan aiming at rationalizing the work of these offices and reforming the methodology adopted in treating the foreign workers, stressing the need to put an end to all the violations in this regard, including “human trafficking.”
