REPORT: Families of kidnapped troops voice commitment to remain ‘silent’ on Arsal captives dossier
A delegation of the Arsal captives’ families visited on Wednesday Health Minister Wael Abou Faour with talks featuring high on the file of the kidnapped Lebanese troops.    

“Abou Faour stressed that the Arsal captives dossier is on the right track and that all parties have agreed on the swap deal issue,” the hostages’ families said in a press conference following the visit.    

The families also said they will honor their pledge to Prime Minister Tammam Salam to seek secrecy on the file so that their sons could come back the soonest possible.      

The hostage troops and policemen were captured when jihadists from the Nusra Front and the Islamic State militant groups briefly overran the border town of Arsal in August and engaged in fierce battles with the Lebanese army.       

Four captives have so far been executed, and the jihadists have threatened to kill the remaining hostages unless there is a deal to free Islamist prisoners in Lebanon.
