REPORT: Finance Minister says toxic, radioactive material seized at Beirut Port and Airport
Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil said Lebanese customs agents have seized house and culinary equipment that contain hazardous radioactive material.

“The materials were seized at the Beirut Port and the Beirut International Airport,” the minister noted, saying “it is completely unacceptable that Lebanon become a dumpsite for toxic waste”.

“The purchase of cheap goods will not be accepted,” Khalil said in a press conference at the Beirut Port on Monday, adding “this file will be referred to investigations and importing companies will be held accountable”.
