REPORT: Discharged employees at Casino Du Liban resume sit-in
Discharged employees at Casino Du Liban resumed on Wednesday their sit-in outside the facility, preventing the head of the Board of Directors Hamid Kreidy from entering the building.
Sources told LBCI that the two Casino Du Liban employees' unions had asked for an appointment to meet with Minister of Labor Sejaan Azzi, adding that no appointment has been given until present.
On Tuesday, Casino Du Liban announced that the plan set to treat the financial and administrative issues requires monitoring the promotions and the work process of the casino, as well as terminating the employment of several workers.

The administration also noted that the implementation of said procedures was halted due to the deteriorating security situation in neighboring countries and ensuing impacts on the local economic scene.

It also noted that the contracts of employees who are not attending their duties are hereby terminated, adding that it will not backtrack on its decision.

In turn, the discharged employees held a sit-in outside the institution.

Sources had told LBCI earlier that 191 employees were suspended from work at Casino Du Liban, adding that they are successively being informed by the administration.
