Health Minister Wael Abou Faour called on Friday for the inspection of a certain food manufacturing factory in Western Bekaa.
Following the inspection, representatives of the ministry noted that the factory does not comply with food safety standards.
In the details, inspectors found at the factory 2,500 KG of sugar without a date of production, 1,600 L of ketchup in poor sanitary conditions, 4,500 bottles of lemon juice without a production or an expiry date, as well as a quantity of canned food without a production or an expiry date.
Inspectors from the ministry also stated that the factory was granted a one-week period to improve its conditions, and comply with the basic requirements for food safety.
