REPORT: New proposals presented to end issue of CDL discharged employees

New proposals were presented on Monday in a bid to end the issue of discharged employees of Casino Du Liban.

Meanwhile, Casino Du Liban employees who were laid off from the country's main gambling center proceeded with their sit-in.

On Tuesday the 3rd of February, a meeting is also due to be held between both parties of the conflict at the Labor Ministry under the patronage of Labor Minister Sajaan Azzi.

Minister Azzi is set to demand the freezing of a decision to sack employees for an extendible period of 15 days until a settlement is brokered.

On January 30, Azzi said “the decision to lay off 191 employees from the casino will be temporarily frozen to allow negotiations”.

Nonetheless, the workers swiftly rejected the suggestion, demanding that casino directors reverse their decision, and refusing to go back to work until they are permanently reinstated.
