REPORT: Hezbollah politburo member from Rabieh: MP Aoun is Hezbollah’s sole presidential candidate

Hezbollah politburo member Mahmoud Qamati said on Friday that Lebanon was able to overcome many obstacles, adding that the country is currently doing better than other neighboring countries in terms of security.

Qamati’s comments were made following a visit made by a Hezbollah delegation to Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun.

The official also hoped that the example of the memorandum of understanding between Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement “would be applied to all parties in Lebanon.”

On another note, Qamati reiterated that MP Aoun is Hezbollah’s sole candidate for the presidential elections.

Lebanon has been plunged into a presidential vacuum since President Michel Sleiman’s mandate ended last May.
