REPORT: Satirist Charbel Khalil to LBCI: Slander campaigns aim to defame me

Lebanese director Charbel Khalil said on Wednesday that the campaign launched against him aims at defaming him and his work.

Khalil’s comments were made during an interview with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV show whereby he stressed that he is not attacking anyone in his program.

Khalil appeared on Monday before a prosecutor in Beirut after Dar al-Fatwa, the country's top Sunni religious authority, submitted a judicial complaint against him for allegedly defaming Islam.

The complaint came after he shared a photo on Twitter that was viewed by some as insulting to Islam.
