The Lebanese army Intelligence Bureau arrested on Tuesday two fugitive terrorists charged with belonging to a terrorist organization and attacking the military institution. The two suspects were identified as Omar Mikati, who is nicknamed as “Abou Huraira” and Bilal Mikati, who is nicknamed as Abu Omar al-Loubnani or Abu Omar al-Traboulsi. The directorate added that the two men belong to a terrorist group, noting that they partook in attacks against the army and carried out terrorist operations inside the Lebanese territories. Also, one of the terrorists is suspected of being involved in the execution of one of the Arsal abducted troops. Investigations with the two terrorists were launched under the supervision of the concerned judicial authorities. Several soldiers and policemen were kidnapped by the al-Nusra Front and Islamic State group armed men following clashes in the northeastern border town of Arsal last August. A few of them have since been freed, four were executed, and the rest are still in captivity. The abductors have been demanding the release of Islamists arrested in Lebanon as a condition to release them. On Monday, the families of the kidnapped men held talks with Defense Minister Samir Moqbel, who expressed optimism over the near release of the troops.
