REPORT: Samaha’s sentence stirs controversy in Tripoli

On Wednesday, former Information Minister Michel Samaha was sentenced to four and a half years in prison, and was stripped of all his civil rights.

The sentence stirred controversy in the northern Lebanon as Mufti of Tripoli and the North Sheikh Malek Chaar said that such sentence “is provocative and encourages terrorism.”
