REPORT: Minister Chouhayeb: Failure to export agricultural products will result in huge losses

Agriculture Minister Akram Chouhayeb called Thursday on the government to support Lebanon’s agricultural production, noting that immigration will increase in case agricultural goods fail to be exported.

“The agricultural sector would sustain huge losses and damages,” he continued.

During a press conference held in Zahle over the crisis of agricultural production exports, Chouhayeb said that the ministry has raised its voice calling for saving the agricultural season and protecting the markets, stressing that “Lebanon’s products must not be affected by the conflicts on the Jordanian-Syrian borders.”

“Standing idly by while the people’s interests are being obstructed is a crime,” he stated.
