REPORT: 5 Czechs, Lebanese driver still missing in Western Bekaa

Security forces stated on Sunday that they are still searching for five Czech nationals and their Lebanese driver who went missing in the Western Bekaa over 24 hours ago.

Meanwhile, relatives of the driver Saeb Taan, said that they have no knowledge of his whereabouts, adding that security forces did not provide them with any information about the incident.

On Saturday (July 18), a police official said authorities are searching for five Czech nationals and their Lebanese driver who was identified as Saeb Taan -who went missing in eastern Lebanon.

The official said their vehicle was found a few hundred meters away from a Lebanese army checkpoint in the town of Kefraya.

A suitcase found in the car contained their passports and some money in Lebanese Lira and Euros.

The official said it was too early to say whether they may have been abducted.

Kidnapping for ransom cases have been on the rise lately, particularly in eastern Lebanon, which is close to the border with Syria.
