Lebanese Prime Minister Tamman Salam blamed the country's "current political atmosphere", citing it as the main obstacle preventing the proposition of solutions to Lebanon's crippling waste crisis.
Following Wednesday's cabinet session, Information Minister Ramzi Jreij quoted the Premiere as saying that interim solutions concerning the waste crisis are set to take shape within the upcoming days, and will be proposed before the concerned ministerial committee for discussion.
Following Wednesday's cabinet session, Jreij revealed that one of the temporary options is the exportation of garbage to foreign countries.
Regarding military and administrative appointments, Labor Minister Sejaan Azzi said that several names were proposed throughout the session, but a vote failed to be held, adding that the file was delayed until further notice.
Prior to the session, Minister Mohammed Mashnouq said that the choice of exporting waste is “serious as a temporary solution pending the end of tenders.”
