The Secretary General of Hezbollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah stressed Friday that August 14th must be adopted as an annual date to "celebrate the country's victory against Israel."
Delivering a speech from south Lebanon's Wadi Al Hjeir for the occasion of Hezbollah’s victory in the July 2006 war, Nasrallah described the events as "part of a miracle of divine proportions."
“We learned that resisting the occupation in all possible means is our sole duty,” Nasrallah said stressing, “this resistance has led to victories.”
"The battle of Wadi Al Hjeir was a decisive factor in bringing an end to the July 2006 war, consequently humiliating the [Israeli] enemy."
Hezbollah’s Chief added, United Nations 1701 resolution in 2006 "was biased in favor of Israel."
Nasrallah reassured that all Lebanese territories are “immune” from Israeli soldiers who will "never have a successful strategy in Lebanon."
On another note, Nasrallah stated that all regional countries must unite their efforts to face Israel, the United States and Saudi Arabia’s partition plan, stressing that the US is relying on the Islamic State to divide the region and topple regimes.
“Dividing the region will lead to civil and ethnic wars,” Nasrallah said, emphasizing that the real US plan aims at dividing Syria, Iraq, and also Saudi Arabia.
On the Lebanese scene, Nasrallah noted that Lebanese citizens must maintain their coexistence, pointing out that the Lebanese state should serve all Lebanese faction in a similar manner.
In this regard, he stated that real partnership is the road towards a fair state, adding that Hezbollah will not accept the isolation of any of its allies especially those who supported the party during the 2006 war.
As for the presidential elections, Nasrallah said that Change and Reform Bloc leader MP Michel Aoun is an "obligatory passage towards the presidency," adding that Aoun’s participation in the cabinet will reactivate its work.
Nasrallah also urged all Lebanese factions to resort to dialogue in order to solve the country’s current stalemate, calling on Christian leaders to reopen the doors of the parliament.
