Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil called Sunday on the people to gather outside Baabda Presidential Palace on Sunday October 11.
In a speech he delivered during a ceremony to mark the formal handover of the presidency of the Free Patriotic Movement, Bassil said that they keep on calling for parity, stressing that the constitution is not a personal property.
For his part, head of the Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun said that the “biggest crisis of all is the state’s failure to reform the electoral law,” expressing concern over the rampant corruption across the state’s public institutions.
“The decisive word will be that of the people,” Aoun said, promising that a strong president who represents the people’s demands will be elected.
