REPORT: Truck drivers’ strike deferred until tomorrow afternoon
Truck drivers postponed Friday their escalatory steps until tomorrow afternoon.

This decision came after the Commander of the Gendarmerie Joseph el-Helou promised them to follow up on their case.

They reiterated that they paid all the municipality fees.

Earlier today, truck drivers continued their movement for the second consecutive day in Jeita, resulting in a suffocating traffic jam.

The drivers had kicked off their strike on Thursday (October 15) when they blocked the Jeita road to protest against a decision that banned trucks not carrying the necessary permits from using said road.
