Amid the liquidity crisis and the shortage in US dollar in the market, the citizen remains the weakest link.
The price of a gas canister in shops increased by 3,000 to 5,000 LBP, to reach for the 10.5 kg canister 18,000 to 21,000 LBP, while the official price is set at 14,600 LBP.
This increase came after the gas importing companies refused to abide by the circular issued by the central bank regarding the need to settle 15% of the credits in US dollar, and 85% is ensured by Banque Du Liban.
