Tripoli coffee shops, between modernity and tradition

The coffee shops in Tripoli that go back in date to the French mandate are still the same; they still have the same chairs and the same utensils.

One thousand LBP is the price of a coffee or tea cup, and another 1,000 LBP will buy you a nargileh [shisha].

The Tripoli coffee shops are considered as the shelter of the "dervishes" especially that some of their customers have left towards modern coffee shops.

As these shops maintain their cultural and social heritage, costumers play card games, domino and other board games.
