Central Bekaa public schools suffer from an overload of students

Public schools students in Central Bekaa live a real misery where the schools suffer from a high number of registrations with a limited number of seats, as a great number of Syrian refugees' children want to continue their education.

In this context, the Public Kindergarten School which has room for only three hundred students halted the registrations after reaching 382 students. In order to contain this overload, it used the administration's office and the teachers' lounge as classes.

The High Commissioner for Refugees, in cooperation with the Ministries of Social Affairs and Education, offered two equipped wooden rooms which were placed in the school's playground, to which the director and the teachers moved.

In this context, the director of another school explained that his school refused to receive around 50 students who applied to get in.
