REPORT:With Arab revolutions casting the shadow, women rise up against patriarchy
In order to seek freedom, independence and safety for women in the Arab world, the page “Uprising of Women in the Arab World” was created, garnering more than 31 million people in a short time span. Every person supports the group his/her own way, making the slogan “I support the uprising of women in the Arab World”, the most talked about subject in the region and across the Gulf.

Accordingly, the organizers of the virtual uprising are hoping to make it a reality, so that women do not remain deprived of their most basic rights, since the scene of the revolutions and Arab spring cannot be made complete without a society that is fair to women.

In this context, Diala Haydar, a member of the “Uprising of women in the Arab World” team, told LBCI that the page is a small effort aiming at leaving an impact on Arab communities and attempting to improve the situation of women.

Given that the Arab revolutions proved that any dictator will fall sooner or later, will the women uprising succeed in toppling the patriarchal  dictatorship taking over the Arab World?
