REPORT: Efforts to contain Kataeb-Soueid crisis revealed
A crisis erupted lately between the Kataeb party and the coordinator of March 14 Secretariat General Fares Soueid, due to regulatory, electoral and personal differences. Accordingly, the “first fireman”, Fouad Siniora, rushed to contain the fire raging between both sides.            

In this context, Siniora tried to end the dispute, addressing Soueid and the Kataeb party by saying: “We should not be dragged into such disputes, since this not the best timing given that we have greater issues to deal with, and I ask you to calm down as we can find solutions to every problem”.                      

However, the dispute remains and ending it seems very hard, even if the first step aimed at keeping it away from the media. March 14 sources reported that the conflict could be ended by a regulatory restructuring project.                   

The same sources noted that the electoral side of the crisis was not justified; pointing that it is still too soon to choose the candidates and the districts.
