Diab chairs security meeting at Grand Serail over lockdown

Caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab chaired on Wednesday at the Grand Serail a security meeting devoted to the coronavirus file.

The meeting was attended by Ministers Zeina Akar and Mohammad Fahmi, Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun, Director General of the Internal Security Forces Major-General Imad Othman, Director General of State Security Major General Antoine Saliba, Director of the Lebanese Army Directorate of Intelligence Brig. Gen. Antoine Mansour, ISF Information Branch Chief,Brig. Gen. Khaled Hammoud, Deputy Director General of State Security Brig. Gen. Samir Sanan, Secretary General of the Higher Defense Council Major-General Mahmoud al Asmar, in addition to PM’s Advisors Khodor Taleb and Petra Khoury.

The interlocutors deliberated on the lockdown implementation modalities, measures enhancement and proper monitoring.

The meeting discussed as well the submission of a law proposal on imposing a harsher penalty on those uncommitted to wearing masks, and registering the penalty as a misdemeanor in the police record.
