Hariri delivers televised speech marking anniversary of his father’s assassination

Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri delivered on Sunday a televised speech marking the 16th anniversary of the assassination of his father ex-PM Rafic Hariri.

During his speech, Hariri said that those who have no other job but to attach the “political Harirism that this political Harirism stopped the civil war, placed Lebanon again on the map, rebuilt Beirut, built governmental hospitals and Rafic Hariri University hospital is a sample of them.”

Hariri also noted that the political Harirism built the national university, public schools, the airport and attracted investors and tourists, as well as it established the first mobile network in the Middle East region.

“What did you do for the country and for the people of this country?” Hariri added.

Hariri stressed that the people’s anger exploded 16 months ago, asserting however that “the solution for the crisis exists, is known and ready.”

“In all my International and Arab meetings and calls, I sensed a readiness and a enthusiasm to help Lebanon, to put an end for the collapse and to rebuild Beirut,” he added.

“All this is one button away, and the button is the formation of a government made of non-partisan specialists,” Hariri went on by saying.

On another note, Hariri stressed that the fight against corruption starts with the independence of the judiciary, adding that those who are hindering the formation of a government are also hindering the launch of reforms, delaying the end of the collapse and the reconstruction, prolonging the suffering of the Lebanese people and the tragedies they are living through, and preventing the change in the way of work, and the mentality that caused all the crises.

As for the Cabinet formation process, Hariri noted that the rights of Christians are simply the rights of all Lebanese people.

On another note, Hariri stressed that the country can not exit the crisis without the Arab countries and the International community.
