REPORT: Syrian actor dies in a dramatic manner

 
Since the onset of the Syrian revolution, actor Mohammad Rafeh did not hesitate to voice his pro-regime political stances whether through interviews or television appearances.                    

However it seems those same stances were what lead to his eventual death following his kidnapping from his hometown in Barzeh, Damascus with his body found a couple of days later.                      

A group by the name “Ahfad al-Sadiq” affiliated with the Free Syrian Army adopted his death. They say that they found a hit list with the names of Syrian activists on his person.                         

Monday afternoon saw the burial of Raffeh who is only 30 years of age.                           

His work is widely known, but he will be most prominently be remembered for his role as Ibrahim, the son of a textile merchant in the popular series “Bab el-Harra”. His other works include “Rijjal el-Izz”, “Pump Action” and “Maraya 2011”.                 

Rafeh’s killing came as a social media campaign called for the punishment of Syrian artists who support Assad, the Associated Press reported.                  

A Facebook page, “The Black List of Syrian Artists,” carried a picture of Rafeh standing next to a wall with “Assad only” spray-painted on it, AP reported.
