REPORT: Italy's Deputy FM to LBCI: we refuse that Lebanon pays the price of the region's crisis

In an exclusive interview with LBCI, Italy's Deputy Foreign Minister Stefan de Mistura said that the International Community does not want Lebanon to pay the prices of the tensions the region is currently facing, stressing that the Lebanese local crisis can only be solved by the Lebanese themselves without any foreign interference.

When asked about the EU's decision to reduce the numbers of its forces in the UNIFIL, Mistura stated that this is an indicator of the UNIFIL has succeeded in accomplishing its mission in the South.

On the Syrian refugees issue, the deputy FM stated that his country is providing aid via the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and the World Food Program, emphasizing that "the Syrian crisis can only be solved politically."

Mistura visited during his stay in Lebanon the 3 top officials and Foreign Affairs Minister Adnan Mansour.
