Introduction to the evening news 11-11-2012

Beirut Marathon overcame the stormy weather today but Sidon was severely hit by a sectarian storm. The marathon gathered the Lebanese people but it wasn’t long before they were divided again.

Assir’s partisans and Hezbollah's supporters violently clashed today after the party raised Shiite religious banners in Sidon.

In Syria, the Syrian opposition leaders who were meeting in Doha struck a deal to form a broad and named it the “Syrian National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces”. The new Syrian council announced that there won’t be a dialogue with the regime and said it will work on uniting the military councils.    

This as, Israeli forces fired "warning shots" into Syria after stray mortar fire from fighting between Syrian forces and rebels hit the occupied Golan for the first time since 1973.  

Israel threatened Gaza Strip as well with its ongoing airstrikes and ministerial calls to conduct a large-scale military operation to destroy the strip’s infrastructure and organizations.
