REPORT:Elham Chahine battles Salafist Sheikh for Egypt's future image

Four months have passed since the Egyptian judiciary issued a verdict which stipulates the imprisonment of the Salafist Sheikh Abdallah Bader for one year and fining him to 20 thousand Egyptian pounds on charges of insulting actress Elham Chahine and voicing defamatory public claims against her.

In this context, the offense court set a bail of five thousand pounds in order to temporarily prevent the implementation of the verdict.

Bader's supporters and other veiled women protested against the decision.

In turn, actress Elham Chahin will pursue Sheikh Bader on other charges of fraud and defamation as well as impersonation of an Azhari doctor.

The Chahine-Bader issue is nothing but a new round that may determine Egypt's future image.
