Mikati: No way out of the economic crisis without approving final IMF agreement-[VIDEO]
Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati stressed on Thursday that the financial crisis the country is going through, shows the necessity of developing a comprehensive strategy and project to adopt structural reforms that ensures the economic and social recovery.
 
Mikati’s comments were made during the inauguration of the "Beirut Economic Forum 2022" organized by the Union of Arab Banks, and titled "Arab Experiences in Economic Reforms and an Agreement with the International Monetary Fund,” whereby he considered that this path requires the support of the international community and its assistance through the agreement with the IMF.
 
“There is no solution to the current economic and monetary crisis in Lebanon without the approval of the final deal agreement with the Fund,” he explained.
 
Mikati went on to mention that overcoming the crisis must be through a general settlement that includes the election of a new president of the republic as soon as possible, the formation of a new government, the adoption of the required reforms, and the conclusion of a final agreement with the IMF.
