REPORT: Storm hits Lebanon, leaves electricity damages

The strong storm that struck Lebanon and is expected to last till Friday resulted in various electricity damages.

The reason behind these damages is that the workers at Electricite Du Liban decided to perform their strike on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, leaving the reparation of damages until Friday, and thus leaving the citizens without electricity until then.

In this context, workers at EDL issued a statement whereby they said that they will be holding a strike in protest of what they called ‘cancelling the rights and benefits of workers in the budget of year 2013’ issued by the ministry of labor.

The workers hoped that the ministry would change its decision, or else they will be taking escalatory measures.
