Political clash over possible caretaker cabinet meeting continues
Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati insists on holding a cabinet meeting, even with one item. He is supported by Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, whose Finance Minister insists on not passing the electricity advance without a decree issued by the Council of Ministers, which the Free Patriotic Movement rejects.

The difference in this attempt is Hezbollah's refusal to attend any meeting that Mikati calls for if it does not receive the approval of all government components, foremost of which are the ministers of the Free Patriotic Movement. Hezbollah has informed Mikati of its stance.

LBCI information confirms that Hezbollah took the initiative and is undertaking, through its representatives, contacts with the head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Gebran Bassil, on the one hand, to persuade him to attend a session devoted to electricity, and with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, on the other hand, to convince him that the Minister of Finance must sign the electricity advance, provided that the results of the communications appear in the next few hours.

It is noteworthy to highlight the position of the political bureau in the Amal movement, which considered that the urgent issues of the Lebanese, especially in the issue of electricity, go beyond the "political distress" and the arguments that some parties are trying to practice within addresses that no longer deceive anyone and are outside the interest of citizens, stressing the need to bear the caretaker government has full responsibilities.

All the behind-the-scenes contacts aim to delay a cabinet session to prevent the caretaker government from being blown up. This will be the case if Mikati insists on holding any session of this government without the approval of the head of the Free Patriotic Movement. If Hezbollah secures the session's quorum, that will put the alliance of Hezbollah and the FPM in the wind.
