Introduction to the evening news 19-01-2013

Calm prevailed in Tripoli after yesterday’s incident and President Michel Sleiman headed to Moscow, while PM Najib Mikati is expected to visit Saudi Arabia tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the electoral law and its controversial proposed draft laws are enhancing division among political parties. It doesn’t seem that they will be reaching an agreement over an electoral law proposal soon.

This as, Turkey has launched talks with the Syrian opposition for the formation of a transitional government while violent clashes keep erupting on Syrian territories.

In Algeria, the case of the gas facility was closed by killing the abductors and the rest of the hostages. But the end of this crisis is the beginning of a conflict with the Qaeda groups located in the Arab Maghreb countries.
