REPORT: Egyptian protesters demonstrate against police

An Egyptian activist Mohammed al-Guindi, 28, was reported missing since January 25th.

He was claimed dead on Monday in Hilal Hospital after slipping into a coma following days in police custody.

His death sparked fury and reignited calls for police reform in the area of Tanta.

According to medical reports, Guindi arrived at the hospital unconscious and suffering from internal bleeding.

The Popular Current, to which Guindi belonged, said in a statement the activist died "as a result of torture."

Guindi was arrested in Cairo's Tahrir Square after joining protests demanding change on the second anniversary of the Egyptian revolution.

His death comes just days after a video that outraged Egyptians, showing riot police strip and beat a middle-aged man and drag him across the pavement as they cracked down on protesters.
