REPORT: Rai meets with Mikati and Berri in Rome

A meeting was held on Sunday between Maronite Patriarch al-Rai, Speaker Berri and PM Mikati at the Maronite School in Rome, in the presence of Environment Minister Nazem Khoury and Lebanon’s ambassador to the Vatican Georges Khoury.

Following the meeting, Berri stressed that he will accept any agreement reached, noting that he will not call on the general authority to hold a session aimed at passing the electoral draft law unless all the parties reach an agreement.

For his part, Rai told LBCI that Berri asked him to exert effort in order to be able to reach consensus over a new electoral law.
