REPORT: Baroud says Wednesday's General Authority session "political par excellence"

In case the Parliament fails to reach consensus over a new electoral law during the General Authority sessions, the 1960's electoral law will return to the forefront.            

In this regard, Former Interior Minister Ziad Baroud said that the 1960's law, which is still constitutionally effective, may only be annulled upon the ratification of a new law.
                       
Baroud told LBCI that the cabinet has to assume the responsibility of holding the upcoming elections, adding that "Wednesday's General Authority session is political par excellence".
         
This report will examine the stance of Former Minister Ziad Baroud in regards to the electoral law and the General Authority session.
