REPORT: Katmandu city marks 60th anniversary of climbing Mount Everest

Today (Wednesday) marks the 60th anniversary of the first conquest of Everest. It was on 29 May 1953 that New Zealander Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay of Nepal reached the top of the world's tallest peak.

This report will shed light on famous figures that climbed Mount Everest and made important achievements as well as the widespread celebrations held in the city of Katmandu on the 60th anniversary of this event.
