Caretaker Minister of Interior Marwan Charbel told
As-Safir newspaper on Thursday that the security apparatuses are "active" in fighting terrorism.
As for the file of the Lebanese hostages in Syria's Aazaz, caretaker Minister Charbel said that the lawsuit filed against 13 relatives of the hostages is a "positive sign" to the Turkish authorities to show Lebanon's keenness on closing this case.
According to the Daily, caretaker Minister Charbel said the Lebanese authorities are exerting all possible efforts to release the nine remaining hostages in Syria.
Fatah representative in the Palestinian Refugees camp in Ain el-Helweh, Maher Shabayta, denied to
An-Nahar newspaper on Thursday rumors stating that the Imam of Bilal bin Rabah mosque Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir is hiding inside the camp.
According to the Daily, Shabayta said that the Lebanese Armed Forces and the security apparatuses are adopting severe measures at checkpoints near the camp.
In this context, security sources told
As-Safir newspaper on Thursday that the Lebanese Armed Forces "will firmly respond" to any attack that may target the military institution launched by the hard-line armed men in Ain el-Helweh refugees camp.
The founder of the Salafist movement in Lebanon Dai al-Islam al-Shahal told
Al-Anbaa newspaper on Thursday that the Syrian-Iranian axis is exerting all possible efforts to "plunge Arsal, Tripoli and the Sidon regions into sectarian strife."
According to the Daily, Dai al-Islam al-Shahal condemned the Roueis explosion, saying that perpetrators of the blast are either the Syrian regime or the Syrian opposition.
He also called on the Lebanese state to assume its responsibilities in implementing peace and stability across Lebanon.
Future MP Atef Majdalani told
Al-Joumhouria newspaper on Thursday that the latest meeting held with President Michel Sleiman tackled the security, political and economic developments in the country.
He also noted that President Sleiman is holding contacts with Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam to form a new government as soon as possible.
According to the Daily, MP Majdalani urged all Lebanese leaders to ease down their rhetoric , "mainly after the Roueis explosion", to spare the country further tensions.
