Sources told An-Nahar newspaper on Sunday that Speaker Nabih Berri and head of Future bloc MP Fouad Siniora will meet in the few hours to come to discuss the deteriorating political and security situation in the country.

Sources added that Berri and Siniora will also tackle the formation of the new government "as soon as possible", the resumption of dialogue  and the drafting of a new electoral law.

According to the Daily, discussions will reportedly highlight  the necessity of avoiding political void in the country by carrying out the electoral and presidential elections on their due time.
 
Sources told Al-Hayat newspaper on Sunday that the security meeting presided by caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Saturday tackled Thursday's attack on four Alawites in Tripoli.

Same sources added that the security apparatuses identified the perpetrators of the attack, noting that they will be arrested.

According to the Daily, the attack aimed at increasing sectarian tensions in Tripoli.

This as sources told Asharq al-Awsat newspaper on Sunday  that another round of violence started in the northern city of Tripoli between Bab al-Tebanneh and Jabal Mohsen, noting that it "will not end any time soon."
