The consultant of the Lebanese forces retired general Wehbe Katicha told Acharq al-Awsat newspaper on Sunday that the Lebanese Forces is adamant on rejecting the extension of the parliament 's mandate.

Katicha noted however that the party will attend the session tasked with the extension of the parliament's term.


Future bloc MP Jean Ogassapian told Acharq al-Awsat newspaper on Sunday that the bloc will withdraw all its candidates in case the parliamentary polls will be held before the presidential elections.

Ogassapian reiterated that parliamentary elections cannot be held amid the presidential vacuum.


Change and Reform bloc MP Hekmat Dib told Acharq al-Awsat newspaper on Sunday that he rejects the extension of the parliament's mandate.

Dib noted that the security situation in the country is stable, adding that the parliamentary elections can be held.


Ministerial source told An-Nahar newspaper on Sunday that Prime Minister Tammam Salam is following up on the issue of the Arsal kidnapped Lebanese soldiers with General Security head Major General Abbas Ibrahim.

The same sources added that some progress is being made in this regard.
