Al-Joumhouria daily quoted Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour Monday as saying that the Arab League extraordinary meeting that was held in Cairo on Saturday addressed the Syrian crisis, adding the Syrian current representative to Arab League opposed the Arab League’s call for immediate halt of violence in Syria.
Mansour added that “Syrian representative to Arab League slammed the initiative of Secretary-General of the Arab League, Nabil al-Arabi to head to Damascus to discuss with Syrian officials the consultations of the meeting.”
Mansour added that he tabled during the meeting the disappearance of Imam Musa Sadr and his companions and called on the Arab League to exert assiduous efforts to determine their fate. He added that “The Libyan representative expressed interest in Sadr disappearance and vowed that the Libyan National Transitional Council’s (NTC) will follow up on the case.”
