A robot suitcase has been introduced to help ease the travelers’ pain in carrying luggage around airports.
The “Travelmate” suitcase can move itself and follow you around the airport; it will stick close to you as you make a last-minute dash for your flight - as fast as 6.75mph - and is smart enough to be able to navigate obstacles and crowds.
And if that wasn't enough, the will also double as your travel partner - you can even name it, if you choose to.
The robot works in a similar way to autopilot systems in vehicles like Tesla cars.
The robot suitcase will also understand if you've lost it, or if it has been stolen and will take appropriate measures to get back to its owner.
Travelmate is also fitted with GPS, so by using an app on your phone, you will be able to track its location at all times.
And it can carry important equipment too – it has practical applications in places like offices and hospitals. In medical settings, you can attach things like health monitoring devices or IV (intravenous) bags, which will make it easier for patients to move around.
