UNESCO nominates Lebanon's Mankousheh to its 'Intangible Cultural Heritage' list
Lebanon’s ambassador and permanent delegate to UNESCO, Sahar Baassiri, revealed on her Twitter account that the Mankousheh had become a candidate for registration on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list.

“Congratulations, Lebanon […] in the hope that the ongoing crisis will not deprive the Lebanese of their mankousheh, so the joy will be complete by registering next year, similar to the French baguette and Italian pizza,” commented Baassiri.

Lebanon is best known for its rich culinary heritage, represented by many food items inspired by the Mediterranean taste. Lebanese cuisine has thousands of fans worldwide for its delicious signature dishes infused with local ingredients and spices.
