Activists urge nations to expel ambassador, security forces kill six

Syrian activists called for fresh protests on Friday to urge nations to expel Syrian ambassadors and further isolate Damascus, as neighbor Turkey joined Russia in warning of the risk of civil war.

"They are the ambassadors of crime. Expel them, oh free ones," the Syrian Revolution 2011, one of the main groups behind the protests, said on its Facebook page. "Today we want to impress the regime by the strength of our protests... We want the regime to hear us as we call for the fall of the regime, its ambassadors and its politicians," it added.

Syrian security forces shot dead at least six protesters on Friday and wounded tens when they fired live ammunition to disperse protests against President Bashar al-Assad after Friday prayers, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. Among those killed was a 14 year-old protester in the southern city of Deraa.

The rest of the deaths occurred in the Damascus suburb of Erbin, the central city of Homs and the countryside of the city of Hama to the north, said the Observatory.
